The ACW is US-based and focused, but a very comprehensive web site and if your interests include computers and writing, this is an excellent resource. ACW, is an association of teachers and researchers in public schools, community colleges, and four-year colleges and universities who are interested in using computer technologies and networks to improve their classroom writing instruction. The ACW was started in mid-1993 by Trent Batson, John O'Connor, and Fred Kemp, based on the idea of people working together to overcome the difficulties and realize the amazing opportunities of computers and the Internet revolution. Writing Argumentative Essays is "a unit of curriculum which aims to teach students how to write short argumentative essays of approximately 1000 words. The unit was prepared for students undertaking the Victorian Certificate in English for Vocational Education and Further Study (EVEFS) course at Victoria University of Technology (TAFE). These students have a minimum ASLPR level of 2 (Upper Intermediate). However, the unit should be useable in any course involving the preparation of first or second language learners for further study at university or TAFE level."
