This is a terrific site for advanced learners who would like to download audio books in French. There are over 1000 titles (Zola, Balzac, Hugo, etc. which you can download to your computer, MP3 player, etc. and they're all free. There are also English-language writers that have been translated into French and I saw one item for George Washington in English. To explore!

Conçu tant pour les lycéens et les étudiants que pour les professeurs, les chercheurs ou les curieux, ce site propose des outils de recherche et de navigation (chronologies, listes de sites) ainsi qu'un mode d'emploi. Les documents y sont disponibles, comme dans Gallica, en mode image et/ou en mode texte.
Avec cette nouvelle collection, Gallica, jusqu'à présent consacré au XIXe siècle francophone, s'ouvre à la littérature française, depuis le moyen âge jusqu'à la veille de 1914. "
